The NC Study Commission on Aging has scheduled a public hearing on Wednesday, March 24th from 10:00am - 12:00pm at the Jamestown Town Hall in Guilford County. The purpose of the hearing is to receive comments from the public about aging needs and concerns across our state.  Additional hearings will be held as well during April in other parts of the state. Input from these hearings is strongly considered by the Commission in its recommendations to the NC General Assembly. These hearings are our opportunity to address the Commission on aging needs in our communities, and you are strongly encouraged to attend and speak out.

Aging Boot Camp February 17 & 18 A Big Success

Boot Camp Session

NCAOA's popular Aging Boot Camp was held in Greensboro last month with 57 persons in attendance, the largest group ever.  This orientation program for new employees in the aging network, or others wanting a basic understanding of aging issues and services, was organized and led by Bill Lamb of the UNC Institute on Aging.  NCAOA President Ellen Whitlock joined NC DAAS Director Dennis Streets, Kim Dawkins Berry of the Piedmont Triad AAA, and several other presenters in this two-day workshop that is held twice a year in various parts of the state.  Stay tuned for information on the next Aging Boot Camp that will be held this fall.
